I forget to tell that i also know the one line before and after "-------------"
so for that i simply use
sed -ne '/line1/,/line3/p' file name
but i am facing one problem in thats
there is very little diffrence between each before and after statement like this
Runing Test Case LS01
...........
...........
Test Case LS01 Completed
----------------------------
Runing Test Case LS01_A
.................
.........
Test Case LS01_A Completed
----------------------------
Runing Test Case LS02
...............
..............
Test Case LS02 Completed
----------------------------
now if i run the above command like this
sed -ne '/LS01/,/LS01/p' file_name
than its show both block LS01 and LS01_A but i want only LS01
Thanks for helping me
