what the awk do in this case

nowpwd=`pwd`
cd $VAMPIRE_HOME

configFile=$VAMPIRE_CFG/vampire.cfg

inpuFileName=`awk -F\= '{
if ($1 == "PrepFilePos.InpFilePosDepo")
{

printf("%s",$2)
exit 0
}}' < $configFile`

I need to know what the awk doing here and what is the expected result here , I tried to run the file but I don't get any thing.
note that the PrepFilePos.InpFilePosDepo in the vampire.cfg is like this:
PrepFilePos.InpFilePosDepo=tempFile/InpFilePosDepo.txt

This script returns into the variable inpuFileName the value after 'PrepFilePos.InpFilePosDepo=' from the config file.
In your example, the value is 'tempFile/InpFilePosDepo.txt'
