Shell Programming and Scripting

Hi,
Could some one help me to get rid of visually blank lines from a file using shell or awk or sed (on Solaris machine)?

When I use grep grep -v ^$ inputfile >outputfile it removes some blank lines.. but it seems some tab plus space balnk lines remains.
thaen I used "grep -v '^[[:space:]]*$' outputfile>outputfile1 " but didn't help. the blank lines remains

Is there any other way exist ? looping or any thing.

I have attached the file with this that containing blank lines.
