firstly, thank you all for helping me in previous posts. Here,I have a script with awk and a problem with in it as given below

parameter1=" $1"
parameter2 = "$2"

$script1 "parameter1" "parameter2" |\
{ awk '{ .....

END{
if ( condition)
exit 0
else
{ here I like to echo message to parameter2 like
echo" ** message**" > &2 exit1
}
} '
}
*********************
I tried print statement but did not work. Please help

hmm .. is there a way we can print to parameter2 and exit out of the script??.. coz I am taking a decision in if -else condition and my message is like a warning message. I prefer not re-structuring the script

Not clear what you want. Do you want to print parameter2 or simply want to store some message in it? Need to clarify the requirements with an example maybe.

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're trying to achieve, print to parameter2

I want to store the message to parameter2 and awk component is being used to verify the text message i.e I am sending the text message from script1 to verify "condition", if the condition is met then this script returns zero else should store error message at parameter two and exit returning 1
