Fileserver in Perl via xinetd - bad XML output

what output do you get when you telnet to the port?

If the XML looks ok on your screen - verify any non-printable characters with od.
telnet server port| od -cx
# 9

I think you need a DOCTYPE in your header.

sooo... have a guess where all the script's output into STDERR was going...



no wonder the XML was invalid and I couldn't find no errors in the logs - it was all sent to flash. *d'oh*

thanks for the tip on the packet dump, took me a bit to get through, but once i saw the "valid request" line in the sent data it all got clear. Smilie

thx for the help. adobe called these scripts not usable for 'productive' use, now i finally know why... Smilie
