calling bash from html
I have a bash script (it downloads images and saves them) that I want to call from a link on a web page. I cant seem to make this workSmilie ? It works fine if I call it from command prompt. Any help much apprieciated....

Its possible to run shell scripts from a web page but it depends on your specific web server. For example, with the Apache web server, it must be configured to support cgi access. You can then put your shell script in the .../cgi-bin directory and execute it from a web page.

Note that you must modify your script to output the content type of "text/html" if you want to output any resulting data to your web browser.

Here is a simple example
