More detail, please. Are you looking for one line which matches a pattern, then wanting as output all following lines until you find a line which matches a second pattern?

Also, please provide sample data and sample expected output.

I would normaly do : grep -if MyFilePattern FiletoSearchInto if I use the -c it gives how many total lines it found out of my whole pattern file, but what if i want grep to report how many times it found each...
