Perl CGI forms
Hello All,

I am calling a script 'abc.pl' in my action section while creating a form. This will automatically pass parameters that are collected in the form. But I want to pass other parameters which are actually just variables in the script I am calling 'abc.pl' from. How do I make sure these variables in my current script are available in 'abc.pl'

The easiest way is to generate <input> hidden (type="hidden") tags with the desired parameters and values inside the form from your CGI script.

Alternative methods may be suitable depending on what you want to achieve: HTTP cookies, CGI session

Is this supported in Perl CGI. The following piece of code did not generate the right HTML

print $display_form->input( -type=>"HIDDEN",
-name=>"group",
-value=>"$group");


The 'wrong' HTML that was generated was

<input>-type HIDDEN -name group -value EPG</input>

I have always hated the way CGI.pm generates HTML from code. I personally don't do it this way.
