Shell Programming and Scripting

i have a script in ksh
i m getting the mail but not the attachment,,,,,,,

uuencode /tmp/new1 new1 | mail -s "Plz find the attachment for the currently Running application" naveed@hotmail.com << EOM

plz help.i m getting the mail but not the attachment ,
and rest is ok.

can anyone tell me wats the syntax for sending attachment
