Shell Programming and Scripting

I have a script that calls several other scripts in a specified order:

# Loop over actions in specified order (STOP_ORDER or START_ORDER) and build and evaluate commands
for command in $(eval print '$'${action}_ORDER)
do
printf "`date`\tExecuting ${action}_${command} = `eval print '$'${action}_${command}` ...\n" | tee -a $log_file
eval '$'${action}_${command}
printf "`date`\tSleeping $SLEEP_TIME seconds ...\n" | tee -a $log_file
sleep $SLEEP_TIME
done

Now, what happens is that when I run some stop or start scripts manually I have to hit the enter button to return to the prompt after the script has finished. The above loop just hangs, or waits for user input, at that point, before the message "sleeping" is printed.

I have AIX v5.3 and ksh.

What can I do to fix this?

Problem solved.

What happened is this: someone left the scripts in debug mode with set -x, removed the set -x and the scripts ended normally again.
