Hello,
I would like to change my setting in a file to the setting that user input.
For example, by default it is
ONBOOT=ON
When user key in "YES", it would be
ONBOOT=YES
--------------
This code only adds in the entire user input, but didn't replace it.

I am trying to compare two fixed width files as shown below. The file is NOT sorted. The field in bold red is the key field. The comparison needs to be based of key fields and not whole record. But needs to write out the whole record in the output.

I recently updated a test system from Suse 8 to 9.3. Now our runlevel services program doesn't work, but works fine on our other 9.3 boxes.
We have a file in /etc/init.d/rc3.d called S99fooprog(not actual name ofcourse).

Say, I have user1,user2
if user1 spawns 12 process and user2 spwans 15 process, Is there a way can I change the priority of any process started by user1 to 5 and viz-a-viz user2 to 20
