We havn't seen many python users or posts related to python in the UNIX forums. Perhaps, if that is a considerable number we could bring up a new sub-forum. As such, I think python can be covered in the 'Shell Programming and Scripting Q & A' sub-forum.

We considered a separate forum for languages like perl, ruby, and python. The problem with that is that some questions posted posted in the shell programming forum need more power than even ksh or bash provide. Also some problems nicely solved by a paragraph of ksh or bash code can sometimes be solved by one or two lines in python. And some python users seem to love pointing that out. I like the threads that show solutions in a variety of languages and I think this is an excellent way to expose old programmers to newer languages. Separating the languages would discourage stuff like this.
