The script would be something like:

ssh -q user@host "more /batchfile.log"

Something simple like that. Do a 'man ssh' to learn about keys.

The -q stands for quiet. It suppresses messages you might get when you ssh into a server.

Hi,

Seems like I've been looking into the wrong things... my apologies on that. Here's a description of the real deal:

Consider having a line which resembles this in your script file:

ssh username@host "command"

ie. ssh rockysfr@localhost "ksh" (the one i used is something like ssh rockysfr@desthost "ksh a.sh")

This should put you in the ksh environment. Now, the strange thing is that when I attempt to use a function such as more in this shell, I get no output, and you get stuck in the shell (can type, press enter, etc but you won't be able to exit till CTRL-C).

Any explanations on why this is happening? If I were to run my script without going into ssh, it runs perfectly. Otherwise, we'll see some strange things such as:

more - no output on screen, can type, press enter, etc. but shell is stuck in a meaningless state (need CTRL-C to exit)
less - output comes out in one shot like cat, output is not scrollable
man - no paging when output is too much to fit on one page, comes out in one shot like cat

Thanks for your suggestions!
