I am trying to create a loop in awk with the following script:

hvc=1
vtg=1

I need to increment vtm and vtg by 1, when vtm <=5 in need to vtm=1 and add 1 to vtg, when vtg <=8, I need to increment hvc by 1. ex.

hvc=1
vtg=1
vtm=1

then.
hvc=1
vtg=1
vtm=2

when vtm <=5, then
hvc=1
vtg=2
vtm=1

hvc=1
vtg=2
vtm=2

hope this make sense

The loop must be inside an action.
There is not an else clause in a while statement.

I don't understand what you want to do.
