Hi

This file has a delimiter "," so wanted to know if my code is correct? or can it be modified to make it simpler?

should be sorted in ascending order of year mothe date and for each date the time should be in ascending order...the dont need any sorting for the first field that is the field before ","

OK, you've already posted how the file should look --- the important part is what you wrote at the bottom of the post:

so I think you are getting closer.

How did I set up my sort for two fields?

You want to essentially ignore the first 3 characters of the first field.

I suggest you look carefully at the man page again to see how you might do that. Didn't you have a sort of that kind in one of your posts?
