Help with a crontab job!!!
Hi,

i need to schedule a script to run at 6.10AM everyday.I tried to do this way.

#!bin/ksh

10 06 * * 0-6

sh /tmp/ss/script/daily_file_check.sh

And at the command prompt I did

>crontab -e cron.txt

I'm not sure whether this is the right way.

Can anyone please tell me how to do this step by step?

Hi,
You have mentioned it right,but one change...
As you have mentioned everyday then it should be
10 6 * * * <scriptname>

I dont know it seems to not work at all...

Can you tell me another way to work around it?.I want this script /tmp/sa/daily_file_check.sh to be executed everyday at 6.10AM

Hi,
I find one problem in your cron.txt
you have used sh <scriptname>

instead of that use
6 10 * * * /tmp/ss/script/daily_file_check.sh

remember, cron jobs have a much reduced
environment. (esp. $PATH)
no .profile or anything like that.

So you may need to explicitly set them.
