where is the problem

I have made this script for encrypting with pgp some files and trensfering to another system by ftp:
#!/bin/sh

tmpDIR=/some_temp/
archDIR=/some_archive/

find /export/home/ftpfiles/ -name 'recon*' -ctime 0 -exec cp {} ${tmpDIR} \;
file=`ls -ltr ${tmpDIR} | awk '{ print $9; }'`
cd ${tmpDIR}
pgp ${file} -z "pass phrase" +batchmode +force
ftp -n -v "node" << !EOT
user "ftp_user" "password"
cd /dir where I want to put files/
prompt
put *
quit
!EOT
mv -f ${file} ${archDIR}

everything is working ok when i run in a shell (bash), but when i put it in the crontab the file is transfered crypted.
Where is the problem???

Sounds good to me.

I assume there is a good reason why this info is inside a PGP file, most likely security.

So why transfer it uncrypted in an insecure way using an insecure protocol?

Most probable of the reason could be the environment not being set while running from crontab. whenever, you run scripts from cron tab there is no environment set up. try adding the .profile at the begining of the code might be soon after "#!/bin/sh"

because this transfer is made intern between two servers, and the crypted file is send by internet by a third party
