Ok experts - **smiling** - I am sure that you automation Kings and Queens have some "look busy" scripts. Quite frankly I have my systems plugged and pinging quite nicely - that leaves a LOT of time to uhhh... do nothing. Smilie Who has some kool "look busy" scripts other than "mpstat 1 9999" HA HA!!!! Post 'em up.

If flashy useless things is really what you want, perhaps... MGM. It is a system monitor and, as they put it, the "software equivalent of a depleted uranium lawn gnome". Read the FAQ, it's an absolute riot.

If you need something to suck CPU, there's folding@home, prime95 and other such things.

Wow - there are geeks, and then there are I.T Professionals. This guy is DEF a geek. Can you imagine the conversation that would ensue after taking him to lunch one Friday as a nice gesture?? OH MY! Smilie LOL. I might play with that at home for a bit 1st - I think I could tool up something proper w/out resorting to PERL though.
