Cs,

can u tell me in the same script at alast using sed how to remove a line starting with sme letter.

I used the below command but the output s not proper.

dandy $ bdf|awk '{printNF}'|sed '/^e/ d'
awk: A statement occurred that is not valid.

The input line number is 1.
The source line number is 1.

okie i got it now..i used like this..it works..

bdf|sed '/^e/d'|awk '{print$NF}'
# 17

i want to do a calculation when using awk.

i am printing a column using awk. this line is in kb i want to convert it to GB.please let me know how to acheive this in awk when printing.

sorry for the trouble guru's i got it thanks.

bdf|sed '/^e/d'|awk '{print$2/1048576}'

i was trying using some expr command in awk program..now i got it thanks..
