using perl to ftp
Hi all,

I am trying to download a build from an ftp server.

My problem is that my build contains sub folders and files within the sub folders.

I can ftp a single file at a time, but it will be difficult to specify all the paths and download individula files.

My build structure is:

FT/bin/(some files)
FT/lib/(some files)
FT/config/(files)
FT/release/(some files)

Can I zip the entire directory on the ftp server
Please help me

Of course you can zip the whole folder, but i would use tool like wget to recursively get files from such tree Smilie ...

I have seen on certain CTAN servers that they are offering "dynamic" archival download on their FTP servers. For the user, just select and download a single archive file. But at the FTP server, retrieving those phantom entries will automatically trigger a zipping transparently and return the zipped archive.

Not sure how they do this though.
