Hi All ,

I have an output value with two columns like this...

Days User
10 A
500 B
1 C

How i can compare the first column value and passing the user name as parameter?

For example :

while read -r days
If (days<=30) ;
then
value=days/30 x100
update tableA set value = ${value} where user=A
else
update tableA set value=100 where user=B

Anyone can help me?

You can do something like that :

   if [ $days -gt 30 ]
   then
      value=`expr $days / 30 \* 100`
   else
      value=100
   fi
   # update tableA set value = ${value} where user=${user}
done < inputfile

I have another doubt , how i can do to the result of division , for example 10/20 not round to zero?In this case the result is 0.5 , but i got 0 as result.

Thanks , i already found the problem ...using

`echo "$days / 30 \* 100" | bc -l` solve my problem!!
