Hi,
I want to display latest files (created or modified) recursively in a path.
I tried in different ways, but didn't get any desired output:
find $path -type f -exec ls -lt {} \; | sort -n -r
find $path -type f -printf %p";" | xargs -d ";" ls -t

Hi,
I have some folders (containing files) which gets created daily and names start with 'TT_' . I would like to remove these folders every month end.
Could you please provide me the commands and also the syntax to schedule through crontab.

Hi all,
I'm using Red Hat Linux and want to move some folders and files around but not change the modified date. Is this possible?
I know cp has a -p flag which seems to do what I want, but this is a large volume of data so copying and deleting would not be feasible. (13 Replies)

find . -type f -name "*.sql" -print|xargs perl -i -pe 's/pattern/replaced/g'
this is simple logic to find and replace in multiple files & folders
