Shell Programming and Scripting

Hi,

I am new to unix. I have written a script whenever i am giving

sh filename.sh its prompting unexpected end of file in line number 40

in that line i have echo statement

what do i need to do

username=`cat userfile`
password="cat passfile`
rm userfile passfile

export SQL_DIR CTL_DIR LOG_DIR DATA_DIR username password
echo
echo Data Load Started......................
echo
dataloading > $LOG_DIR/dataload.log
echo Data Load Completed....................
echo

That doesn't look right.

no its `cat passfile ` only i donno why the error is coming
it is always pointing the last line (i.e echo)

Add this near the top of your script (anywhere but the first line):

Code:

set -x

Then run the script and read the output.
