Hi,

I have a strange problem. I accidentally created a file named

${1}_$(date+%Y%m%d)

and when i am trying to remove it I am getting this error

.

Can any one suggest me how i can remove this accidental file.

Maybe use single quotes?

Or another trick I've used to remove oddly named files like that is to do rm -i * in the directory. When it asks you if you want to delete the file say "n" to everything except the one you want to remove, say "y" to that of course.

BE CAREFUL with this one that you don't typo and remove all your stuff! In your case maybe do rm -i $* instead so it will only remove files beginning with $.
