sftp bash script
Hello everybody!
I am writing a script to connect to a sftp server from a client (both are Linux machines) and pull some files from there.
The script is supposed to check if the files are already put on the server and if yes take them. If not, check again in 10 minutes, let's say.
Everything worked fine, the connection is done automatically.
The problem occurs when I want to check if the files are already on the server. Before, when i used ftp i did something like that:
ls -l *.* listed
creating on the local machine (the client) the file "listed" with the list of the files on the remote machine. From here i could manage to check if the files are already there.
But with sftp, when I try to do the same i get:

sftp> ls -l > hh
Couldn't stat remote file: No such file or directory
Any idea please?

Lose the "> hh" part.

I tried , it's the same thing. In the meantime i found something on this forum, that's about it. I am going to try it and see if it works.
