Hi,

Am trying to connect to 100's of servers.In that some of the servers are passwordless.and for some server password required.

Scenario:

Code:

for i in $servers
do
ssh $i
done

when i do ssh to server.if it is password less then well and good. but if it asks for a password,then i need to skip current server then continue with the remaining servers.

like:

Code:

ssh ip

when it asks password..I need a command or script to come out(like break) without pressing ctr+z

There might be an option using the -o flag to set a timeout, but you don't say which OS you are using, so it might not have been implemented.

Could you try:-

ssh -o ConnectTimeout=10 $i

Not sure I understand the problem. Why don't you have two lists, one with the passwordless servers, the other holding those that need a password?

Better still, why not set up ssh keys with no passphrases? For added security the known_hosts file on each server could be set up so the key in question can only be used for certain commands.
