Comparison of files
I have the requirement
I have two files
Code:
cat fileA
something
anythg
nothing
everythg

cat fileB
everythg
anythg

Now i shld use fileB and compare every line at fileA and get the output as
Code:
something
nothing

please help Smilie

grep -vf file2 file1

Any code using loop to compare each line of fileB with fileA and print lines of filesA that doesnt exist at fileB

Of course there is. But, why would you want to do something that will take (n -1) times as long to get your results (where n is the number of lines in the fileA (or, since you list two filenames above, filesA)

Is this a homework assignment? If this is not homework, why would you want to do this one line at a time?
