Ping - cut and sed - problem

How can I get the following result of the "ping" command?

Example:
Code:
root@OpenWrt:~# ping google.com -c1 | sed -n 1p
PING google.com (216.58.210.14): 56 data bytes

How can I get the data only in the range of ()?

The result of what I want to get it:

216.58.210.14

Try
Code:
ping google.com -c1 | sed -n 's/^[^(]*(//; s/).*$//;p;q'

Actually the result of the ping is in the last two (summary-)lines!
The one in brackets is only the result of the host lookup. A DNS lookup you can have like this
Code:
dig google.com +short

In principle
Code:
getent hosts google.com

should work with all configured hosts sources, but in Linux it appears broken: it only returns the IPv6 address, even if IPv6 is not configured at all.
