SFTP via script?

Heya,
New here and to bash scripting.
Currently learning.

So I need some help...
I need to write a script that deletes files older than 7 days and sends mail according to the result- not an issue.
The problem comes when I actually need it to delete files on a different server which I need to connect to via SFTP.

(The server is exavault.com, if you could tell me how to delete files that are older than 7 days there automatically, it will be great, but I would still like to learn how to do it in shell scripting).

So I wrote this script- which works as expected.

paste.ubuntu.com/ 15637662/

Now, I need it to delete files in a different server and to send a mail from my server...
Any ideas?

sftp does not permit for remote script execution.
But it is based on ssh, i.e. it uses the ssh port.
If there is no strict denial of ssh (on application layer) then an ssh should work.
Instead of
Code:
sftp exavault.com

please try to run a remote command with ssh, for example
Code:
ssh -x exavault.com uname -a

If it works, then try to remotely run your script with
Code:
ssh -x exavault.com /bin/bash -s < yourscript

Assuming that your script is a #!/bin/bash script.
If your script needs arguments like ./yourscript arg1 arg2 then you can place them after the -s.

ssh did not work.

I solved my problem using sshfs.
Mounted the directory then
umount ${dir}
at the end of the script.

If im already here...how can I attach a log file to the mails im sending via postfix?

Thanks for your help.
