Month folder
hi

Need an help on this. I need to create a folder for previous month.

i can get the current month folder. Eg March month as Mar2016 but i need Feb2016

Code:
mkdir `date +%b%Y`
Mar2016

But need Feb2016, can any 1 help me on this

Only twelve months, so a loop seems appropriate

mon=`date +%b`; year=`date +%Y`
pmon=Dec; pyear=$((year - 1))
for m in Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
do
  [ $m = $mon ] && break
  pmon=$m; pyear=$year
done
mkdir $pmon$pyear
