Deleting files

Hi

I have an AIX server. I'm planning to use the below script to remove 60 days older files.

Code:
find /path/ -mtime +60 -exec rm -f {} \;

I just want to make sure it will only remove the files. I don't want the directories to be removed.

If in case it will delete the directories too, then what changes should be done so that it will ignore the directories.

Please advise.

To just have find list regular files, change your command to:
Code:
find /path/ -mtime +60 -type f -exec rm -f {} \;

or to be MUCH more efficient if there are lots of files to be removed:
Code:
find /path/ -mtime +60 -type f -exec rm -f {} +

Hello newtoaixos,

It is always good practice to check your command by listing the files before using rm command into find command so that we can cross verify before deleting anything. You could use following command, if you see result is good you could use rm command then into it.
Code:
find /path -type f -mtime +60 -exec ls -lhtr {} \+

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
R. Singh
