Need SSH help

suppose we have a file abc.txt having some random entries.

The below simple code is wrking fine for me:
export CMP_NO=1
for object in `cat abc.txt`
do
echo "${object}"
CMP_NO=`expr ${CMP_NO} + 1`
echo "${CMP_NO}">>xyz.txt
done
*************************
But i need to do ssh and do the task in another server.
The code is as below:
ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -q server2 << ENDSSH
export CMP_NO=1
for object in `cat abc.txt`
do
echo "${object}"
CMP_NO=`expr ${CMP_NO} + 1`
echo "${CMP_NO}">>xyz.txt
done
ENDSSH
**********************
But I am getting error while doing the ssh.
Please help me ASAP.

Hi,

Can you change the
Code:
ssh -o

to
Code:
ssh -v -o

and post the output, without knowing the error it will be difficult yo help you.

below are the error msg:

expr: syntax error
OpenSSH_5.6p1, OpenSSL 1.0.0a 1 Jun 2010
Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a terminal.

ksh[2]: syntax error at line 3 : `emda2,24,blahblah' unexpected

FYI, the contents of the abc.txt are like below:
emda1,25,blahblah
emda2,24,blahblah
emda3,23,blahblah

Can't test it right away, but quoting (part of) the here document's word/delimiter will result in no expansion taking place on the lines of the here document, which might cure your problem.
