Shell script question

I am not sure which is the better way for the below shell script.

I need to find the below process running and sent it to the desired user.

please let me know which is most feasible right way.

Code:

ps -ef | grep "Server" > /shome/kk/text.txt

 cat /shome/kk/text.txt| mail -s "Email testing" ramesh@wide.com

rm /shome/kk/text.txt || echo "success"

---------- Post updated at 08:11 AM ---------- Previous update was at 08:00 AM ----------

output :

I have received only the subject. not the content of cat text.txt.

please let me know what I did wrong.

You can try this...

Code:
if [ `ps -ef | grep -v grep | grep -c Server` -gt 0 ]
then
   SERVER_STATUS="Server is running"
else
   SERVER_STATUS="Server is NOT running"
fi

echo ${SERVER_STATUS} | mail -s "Email testing" ramesh@wide.com

i would need to send the servers list which are running in the backend.

In the email it should be displayed what are the process is running.

Code:

ps -ef | grep "Server" > /shome/kk/text.txt

cat /shome/kk/text.txt| mail -s "Email testing" ramesh@wide.com

I tried this. but the content in the email body are not displayed.

---------- Post updated at 08:47 AM ---------- Previous update was at 08:24 AM ----------

there are content present.

Code:
$ cat tt.txt
  dba  1665  1647  0 05:30:14 ?         0:01 server63 /var/tmp/xsauthn /var/tmp/authz Srv634P 25 32 35
  dba  1664  1647  0 05:30:14 ?         0:06 server 63 /var/tmp/xsauthn /var/tmp/xsauthz Srv34 25 28 29 3
 18984   795  1 08:01:47 pts/4     0:00 grep

But the content are not displayed through email when giving cat tt.txt

grep "Server" would not match "server63" nor "server 63". Did you try
Code:
ps -ef | grep -i "Server" | mail -s "Email testing" ramesh@wide.com

Perhaps it's unable to create a file on the path you specified. His version avoids temp files completely.
