Shell script
I have written a shell script where to replace the /cts/ word to / in all the 100 requested files.

I have looped the 100 files in for loop. plz let me know what replace command I can use to replace the word from

This is a pretty basic question for someone who has already asked for our help well over 60 times...

What have you tried?

Where are you stuck?

What operating system are you using?

What shell are you using?

I am using ksh and using hp-ux

I am not sure how to replace string which present / in the word.

You need to put the slashes in the pattern to avoid replacing unwanted occurrences of "cts". These slashes need to be escaped is slash is used as a delimiter:

sed 's/\/cts\//\//' file.txt

otherwise, you can simply use an alternate delimiter:

sed 's:/cts/:/:'

With something like this it is frequently easier to change the delimiter instead of adding escapes:

sed 'sX/cts/X/X' file.txt

I used X here, but you can use anything other than \ and the <newline> character as the delimiter in a sed substitute command. So, just pick a character that doesn't appear in your search pattern or replacement text.
