Logging the IP from original host not the jumphost
how can you log the ip from their each host? not from jump host? is there anyway regex can do that?

Code:
example.

server1.yourownhost

server2.jumphost

server3.outsidehost


If you will login to server3.outsidehost, then you will issue the command last.
the ip address server2.jumphost, how can you exposed server1.yourownhost

Scenario.
[server1.yourownhost] ssh server3.outsidehost


[server3.outsidehost]# last
jumperuser pts/0         server2.jumphost.ip  Thu Mar 26 12:25   still logged in



Desired output:
 last
jumperuser pts/0         server1.yourownhost.ip  Thu Mar 26 12:25   still logged in

I'm afraid that without additional measures (like each caller sending his own IP address) this can't be accomplished.

you are right...its a linux thing,... any idea how to log? the logins from NAT?(jumphost?)

On server2.jumphost you can log.
Create an executable ssh wrapper
Code:
#!/bin/sh
PATH=/bin:/usr/bin
export PATH
logger -p user.info "`who -m` runs 'ssh $@'"
#to file: echo "`date '+%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S'` `who -m` runs 'ssh $@'" >> sshlogfile
exec ssh "$@"

That logs something, then runs the ssh.
If sent to syslog, the log level (user.info) perhaps need to be configured in syslog.conf.

QNX host cannot ping SCO host, vice versa
