I have to pull files from a customers cloud directory to our cloud directory periodically, the customer has the files in the new-version(nver) folder; which I am pulling via a python script. (python nver.py)
customers cloud location:
Code:
s3://custbucket/$nver/files
Our cloud location:
Code:
s3://mybucket/$fname/$cver/files
Now every time the customer comes up with a newer version my cron script should be able to check the version on our cloud folder, compare it to the latest version at customers end and pull the files if the customer version is different.
The below is the script that i have come up with, but confused how to handle the logic at cver

cver=$nver
...but, I do not have a ls -l option in aws, and this logic is not working sometimes, as tail -1 is not always giving the $cver string
My question?
If I'm declaring cver=$nver, the next time I run the script wouldn't it give the same $nver??, in which case it is never entering the loop and copying files
