Uuencode & Mailx

hi,

i am trying to send a pdf attachment which has a name of 200 characters using uuencode and mailx. But the email is not getting delivered.

Code:
uuencode <filename.pdf> <filename.pdf> | mailx -s "Test" <email_id>

If there are goofy characters or spaces in the filename
try:
Code:
uuencode 'filename.pdf' 'filename.pdf' | mailx -s "Test" <email_id

Sone filesystems do not "like" long file names -
Code:
getconf -a | grep NAME_MAX

If the filename is longer than NAME_MAX you will have problems.

IF this does not help, please post the actual command, as it appears.

Code:
      uuencode "file name to long...200.pdf" "file name to long...200.pdf" > test_UUENCODE.txt
      combine=`cat Email_body.txt test_UUENCODE.txt > combined_.txt`
      email_cmd=`mailx -s "test" ${emal_id}  < combined.txt`

NAME_MAX is 250
