Dividing values within rows with awk?

Hello everyone, I have a dataset that looks like:

Code:
1 2
3 4
5 6

I was wondering if was possible to divide values within rows:
1/2
3/4
5/6

I don't think using
Code:
awk -F"\t" '{ print $1/$2 }'

would work here, or would it?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, that's absolutely fine to do. Watch out for $2 being zero, that would crash the program.

Code:
$ awk '$2 != 0 { print $1/$2 }' <<EOF
1 2
3 4
5 6
EOF

0.5
0.75
0.833333

$
