need help to write crontab file
hello Unix Guru's


I need help to write crontab ..

i want to run my script everyday . It should start after 12:00 midnight everyday .

But on Friday i dont want to start that script at 12:00 midnight but want to start after 3:00 a.m .

any way to write cronttab like this ..

my enteries are like this
#start my script everyday
1 0 * * 1-5 /test/script


pls suggest me

try putting two entries in crontab, one for friday and one for all other days

one more way with just a single entry in crontab,

its just a suggestion,

if [ `date '+%a'` = "Fri" ]
then
sleep 10800 #suspend execution for 3 hrs
fi
# 4

MySQL
i guess crontab entries would look like;

01 00 * * 0-4,6 /test/scrip ///// ( 0=sunday 4=thursday 6=saturday)
01 03 * * 5 /test/script ///// (5=friday)

note: The specification of days can be made in two fields: monthday and weekday. If both are specified in an entry, they are cumulative

Some how the open(file,flag, acc) returns 0 and write to the screen, instead of the file ???

I am out of idea what to do to resolve the problem! I need to use the open(file, for.., access) function to write a file. Never have the situation like that: it is return 0 - zero. As a result all write(..) going to the screen! What the problem it could be? I do not even know... (2 Replies)
