Zipping file issues

Hi All,

I am trying to zip a file but facing the issue.

I have three zip files.

a_1.zip
a_2.zip
c.zip

I want to add a_1.zip and a_2.zip to c.zip

Code:

Code:
###############

for i in a*.zip; do
printf "%s\n" "$i"
done | zip -@ c.zip

###############

After doing this the actual contents of c.zip is overriden by a_1.zip and a_2.zip

I want the contents of c.zip along with a_1.zip and a_2.zip.

Please let me know where am going wrong.

Thanks.

Are the 'a_#' files a split zip file or individual/independant zip files?

zip -@ filename.zip - the man page says that this takes filenames from stdin and then writes them into filename.zip. No appending if the file filename.zip already exists. It is overwritten. stdin reads one filename per line of input. As sea mentions.
Code:
for i in a.zip b.zip c.zip
do
  echo $i
done | zip -@ unused_name.zip
mv unused_name.zip c.zip
