Trying to process 1000 or so files. Take original date and append to end of file. Like so:
tstpls42.bas
tstpls42.bas.Sep-11--2011
Been working along these lines:

i want to append date time stamp in the below manner.
c_abc_new_YYYYMMDD_HH24MISS.txt.xls

I'm trying to move a number of files from one directory to another directory with a new date stamp. This is my script:

Today_Date=`date +%Y%M%D`
