Hi SriniShoo,

Using that script I want to be able to remove spaces in the fields using delimiter cedilla to detect each fields in the data file.

Thanks,

Please do not leave people guessing. Show a representative sample of input, desired output, attempts at a solution and specify what OS and versions being used, or this thread will be closed.

This what the input data file rows look like

Code:
09 1598760 çchngeç 03773634çdgedfrç2014 04 21 00 00 00PMç hdgete09ç

After removing the fields space it should be in this format below.

Code:
09 1598760çchngeç03773634çdgedfrç2014 04 21 00 00 00PMçhdgete09ç

Thanks,
cumeh1624

Moderator's Comments:
Mod Comment This is ridiculous. The title of this thread is Append next line to previous lines when NF is less than 0, but you refuse to show us any input where less than 5 fields are present. In the two messages where you have shown us sample input, one shows that the field separator is ç and one shows that the field separator is Ç. Then you tell us that spaces are to be removed from from your input data and then show us desired output that still contains spaces.

This thread is closed!

If you are willing to show us representative sample input that displays all of the types of changes to be made, a clear description of the changes that are to be made, and sample output that shows what output should be produced from that sample input, then start a new thread that does all of that in the first message in the thread. Also specify what operating system you're using, what version of that operating system you're using, and what shell you're using. Show us the code that you have written to try to solve your problem, show us the output it produces (including any diagnostics or error messages), and explain where it is failing to produce the output you want.
