Touch a file with creation date as 30 min past.
Hi All,

I would like to create a file say test.txt.
And the requirement is its creation date should be 30 minutes past.

For Example :

If i am creating a file at 2:00 am means. Creation time should be 01:30 am.

likewise if i am creating a file at 5 pm means. Creation date should be 04:30 pm.

Thanks for the quick reply.

But unfortunately -d for both date and touch were not supported by our server.

If we are having some other ways means please suggest.

Then you need to create a variable with the current time and apply some maths to come to the 30min before. That can range from easy to demanding, depending on what you really require. There some threads (e.g. in FAQs) dealing with date/time maths.

If you have a recent ksh93, you can use:
