Sort based on numbers

I have a file which has the following data :-

Quote:
1 data1
147 data2
2003 data3
81 data4
90 data5
24 data6
how can I sort the data in descending order .

Quote:
2003 data3
147 data2
90 data5
81 data4
24 data6
1 data1
My files may have the first column with 1 to 10000 numbers .I need to arrange them in descending order .

Thanks
