Changing a global variable to agrv

Hi Guys,
I am dealing with some perl scripts written by someone else. There are alot of global variables set at the top of the scripts, which needs to be edited for different users who run the scripts. I am tring to change them so these variables can be set as arguments when running it from the command line. Not had much luck so far, any ideas?
Thank you!

Code:
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
use strict;
my ($inp1,$inp2);
$inp1=shift;
$inp2=shift;
print "inp1 is:$inp1\n";
print "inp2 is:$inp2\n";

( or )
Code:
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
use strict;
foreach (@ARGV) {
print "$_\n";
}

Code:
Run as :
perl try.pl abc def

you can also use getoptions . See here
