Short circuit if

Hello everyone,
just wondering if this type of if condition will execute properly.
Suppose I have a script with two functions in it called abc and def:
is this code valid, or is there a better way to short circuit the if statement?
Code:
#! /bin/ksh93
abc(){
statement 1 using $1
statement 2 using $2
statement 3
}
def(){
statement 1 using $1
statement 2
}
test=0
p1=1
p2=2
((test==0))&& abc $p1 $p2 && def $1
......

Thanks to all!

It will do what you want as long as statement 3 in function abc terminates with exit status zero.

Given everything that you have told us so far, there is a 20% chance that statement 2 using $2 in function abc is waiting for you to give it input data to process.

If you show us what your script actually does and tell us what operating system you're using, we might be able to give you a more helpful suggestion.

Put
Code:
set -x

at the beginning of each function, and watch it ...
