Perl Script - Sort Columns on webpage

              } @$ids) {

Using the code above say I want to build a webpage that sort by books, hammers, shoes among other stuff I choose later. Doing it this way is a static sort. How could I code this so I could use a drop down on a webpage to choose what I sort by.

I'd like a url like mystore.com?sort=hammer and it sort by the hammer column on the webpage.
