Try a~/[[:alpha:]]/ instead of a~/[a-z]/

Ahh, my fault. I did forget my PC takes a-z for large and small letters due to bug.
As Scrutinizer write, try a~/[[:alpha:]]/ or a~/[A-Z]/

@jotne: It is not a bug, I am afraid, it is the way unicode localities are allowed to be defined. Therefore I rarely use character ascii ranges and prefer character class expressions instead...

What result did you get? Were you using your sample as input?

I used a~/[A-Z]/

But annoying anyway. So I do agree with you, use character class instead.
I will do it from now....

@thejitha Then a~/[[:alpha:]]/ should also work??
