Finding which is Running number
Hi All,
I have a list of data in the listing file and I run row by row to process the record, but how to identify what is the current process line number ?

Using awk, you can use the variable NR

Code:
cat file
one
two
three
four
five
six

Code:
awk '{print NR,$0}' file
1 one
2 two
3 three
4 four
5 five
6 six
