This leads nowhere. Please post exactly and completely what you expect to get as input conditions and how the script should react. E.g. two HPII_val and one HPII_import --> print WHAT?

We will be using
Code:
ps -ef|grep HPII

which will display the output like ./HPII_val and ./HPII_import . Sometimes n number of ./HPII_val will be running or n number of ./HPII_import will be running. So i need to get the number of processes running in the name of ./HPII_val and ./HPII_import
and
if ./HPII_val or ./HPII_import is missing. I should get the mail like "HPII is not running" and if it is fine then i should get the output mail like " n number of HPII_val (or)HPII_import is running". Same for COLD , POST, BES. Am i clear now?

Hi ,

Can someone help me by giving the exact scripting idea to get my expected output.

1)
Code:
ps -ef|grep HPII

./HPII_val and ./HPII_import if presented i should get the result in the mail like "HPII is fine", if not i should get response like "Please check HPII services"

2)
Code:
ps -ef|grep cold

if ./cold_daily.ksh and cold_3770 is presented i should get the result in the mail like "COLD is fine", if not i should get response like "Please check COLD services"

3)
Code:
ps -ef|grep post

if ./postindex_daily.ksh is presented i should get the result in the mail like " POST INDEX is fine" , , if not i should get response like "Please check POST INDEX services"

4)
Code:
ps -ef|grep bes_commit

if bes_commit is presented i should get the result in the mail like "BES is fine" , if not i should get response like "Please check BES services"

I tried the below code, but am not getting the expected output:
Code:
ps -ef|
awk     '/HPII_val/     {HPV=1}
         /HPII_imp/     {HPI=1}
         /cold_dai/     {CDD=1}
         /cold_377/     {CD7=1}
         /bes_commit 1/ {BC1=1}
         /bes_commit 2/ {BC2=1}
         /post_ind/     {POI=1}
         END {if (HPV && HPI) print "HPII is running fine without any issues"
                         if (CDD && CD7) print "COLD is running fine without any issues"
                         if (BC1 && BC2) print "BES is running fine without any issues"
                         if (POI) print "POST Index services is fine"
                        }
        '

Someone please help me out to complete the script before tomorrow. your help is highly appreciated
